Back in the hospital

Hi Everyone,

Curt is back in the hospital at Kaiser Moanalua (on Oahu). He is on IV antibiotics to cover the possibility of a brain abscess, and as of this evening they still have not made a definitive diagnosis. We are awaiting the neurosurgeon's visit tomorrow morning to discuss treatment options. (He will be the same doctor who performed Curt's first surgery...we are very happy he was the one on call this weekend.)

Please pray with us for the decisions that have to be made tomorrow. Please also pray that if they do surgery, he will be kept safe throughout the procedure, and that it will have another successful outcome.

Sending our love from Honolulu,
Patti and family

  3. I'm definitely praying for you, Curt. I've only met you once (that I can remember), but your son Jim keeps me updated every step of the way. Good luck to and, more importantly, may God Bless, you and your family with today's diagnosis and decision. I hope and pray that whatever is going on is relatively minor.

  4. You are very much in our prayers as you wait for definition on what's going on. We love you all, and especially hold you up for strength, courage, and healing. We pray for the doctors/nurses to be skillful and that Curt would be protected in every way. You are never far from our thoughts.
Much love and thanks for keeping us posted. We need that when we are so many miles away.

  7. Dear Curt and Patti,

Ww were just going to let the Snowbird Ohana know Curt's condition when we saw your latest blog. We all know whom we have believed and we trust Him in complete faith to do that which is the best for our beloved Curt. Curt, You may be hurting but your sense of humor is still alive and well! Michele and I cracked up at your line, "Bummer you got penalized for hanging out with a younger woman."
We love you both and will keep you before our Ohana and, of course before our loving God. We look forward to seeing you soon.
In the Grace of Jesus, Marv and Michele

  9. Dear Curt and Patti--Wow, just heard the news yesterday and reading thru all this I am still in shock. God must have bigger plans ahead for you Curt, cause He keeps pulling you through......no reason to stop now! Got you covered in prayer by our Missional Community (like an Ohana group) here on the mainland. Specific prayer for God to strengthen your body, give you immediate relief from painful headaches, and a miraculous healing of the abcess/tumor by our Great Physician and preferably without another surgery but if so, under His guiding hand. My heart goes out to you in this rollercoaster ride. May God encourage and give you peace in knowing He's got this under control. We all want to see Curt's smiling face chewing on certs instead of wearing them!
    Love ,Hugs, and Prayers,
Dori Celestres, Seattle WA. (Renee Steen sent me this blog and asked for prayer)

  10. We are praying for you Curt and for you Patty. We are praying that God gives the Dr.'s the knowledge and skill to determine what is wrong and to be able to treat it. We were so excited at the thought of getting to see you as we just got back from the mainland. We will just have to wait a bit longer. We know both of you and your family are keeping the faith. Our God is good and he hears us.
If there is anything we can do Patty to help, please let us know.
