Surgery Monday

Curt's neurosurgeon met with us today and told us the only way to know for sure what is happening is to do another surgery. Curt's headaches are getting worse and on the MRI images the mass is actually larger than it was originally. He is on three different IV antibiotics to cover the possibility of this mass being a brain abscess rather than regrowth of the tumor. Dr. Liem said that his recommendation was for the surgery, and that this is the choice he would make if it were him.

They are scheduling him for surgery sometime on Monday, and we don't have a time yet. We probably won't know until right before it's time to go. Please pray with us for wisdom, precision and accuracy for Dr. Liem and his team, and for strength and safety for Curt's physical body. We take great peace in knowing that his spiritual safety is already guaranteed in the hands of our loving heavenly Father. And the fact is that there can be no bad outcome to this operation...it's a win-win for Curt either way! Nevertheless, we are praying that God, in his infinite mercy, will allow us to have him here with us for a season longer, so thank you for keeping Curt in prayer today. We will try to post another message as soon as we know the time he is going.

Take care,
Patti and Family

  3. Curt, I remember you assured me you would be home Sunday, so I know it is with some trepidation that you have decided to go with Dr. Liam's recommendation for surgery. We trust that our God is guiding your decision. We know His mercy brought you through the first two, so He must truly have something more for you to share in this life.
I'm so fortunate to have such a precious son-in-law - you are always so caring and helpful and I am so thankful for that. You and Patti have done such a good job with raising 'my' grandkids, having spent SO many hours providing the best for the 5 J's. Even as each of them are unique in their own way, they all reflect that love and training you both gave them over the years - they are such great kids!
This same caring and expertise shows in your love for Hope Chapel, as you have helped to guide us through the building and move to a wonderful new location -- And even through the difficult times since then. So we pray that God's hands will surely guide the Doctor's today, and you will soon be on your way back to continue with us in your special way.
May God truly Bless you again, Curt, and give Patti and the family peace as they wait today for that first smile as you wake.
    Love you so much, Nana/Mom

  6. HI Curt & Patti & family

thank you for your efforts to keep us all informed. We (the prayer team at my CA church) are all with you in the Spirit and Jesus himself is interceding for you all.

Remember 2 Cor 1:3-5 All praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of every mercy and the God who comforts us. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. You can be sure that the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.

You surely gave me comfort by extending your home and family to me while I was sick. I am forever grateful.

Now may Christ's comfort rain down on all of you. (And don't forget the saying, when it rains in California, it POURS!!!)

    much love, nancy
