Hi All,
Just wanted to let everyone know that we're finally home!! I've never seen Curt happier than he was this afternoon...the sun was shining, the flowers were so bright and colorful, the birds were chirping...it was such a beautiful day when we arrived home from the hospital. We felt such gratitude and wonder as we returned to all things familiar - the place where our kids grew up - 22 years of driving down the same driveway...never before did we appreciate coming home more than today!
I could see that Curt's spirits were instantly lifted even higher than they were when we were preparing to leave the hospital. As we walked inside, the refreshing trades were blowing through the house and he sat down on the couch and said, "oh, this feels so good!" He said "there were times when I seriously wondered if I was going to be able to see all this again...the sunshine, our home..."
We are so thankful for all your prayers for Curt's recovery. And we are so grateful to our Lord for His mercy and grace in protecting him through these last three weeks in the hospital, both here and on Oahu. We are looking forward to what the future holds and we are continuing to pray for a great outcome. In the meantime, we are going to be "fattening" Curt up...he lost 20 more pounds in the hospital! And as soon as he gets more of his strength back, he is looking forward to seeing everyone at church!
Love you,
Patti

Praise God! What a good report. So that's 20 pounds in addition to the 15 or so he lost before his diagnosis right? Well Curt, you've got a lot of eating to do. Happy Mother's Day, Patti! We love you both and we'll be praying for Curt's full recovery.

Hi Curt and Patti...
ReplyDeleteI think of you daily...and pray. The saying..."There is NO place like home" is so true. When I think of you in your home, it gives me peace as well. I love your home...it is truly one of my favorites on Maui. I can vizualize you walking into it after being gone during such a challenging time. I've always LOVED the character of older homes...yours with such a Hawaiiana family feel in old town of Wailuku! Yes, your beautiful driveway with all of the lush tropicals...the pool...the birds chirping, some yours and some, visitors welcoming you.
What fond memories it has for me...and for all of the Franks family...how rich your home is with all of the things that are most important in life.
As you said...You never felt so good returning home as this time...for we wouldn't know the
depth of joy and peace without sorrow and struggle.
Thinking and praying for you...
my love and blessings,
bonjo

Thinking of you, loving you and praying, praying and praying for you and your family.

Patti, no better Mother's day gift than this having your Man right beside you at the place you both love best and that is home! My Ron & I are praising the Lord with you & your Curt along with the rest of your special Family! I was flown out for the past week due to dental so what a double delight reading your email as I arrived back home here in the Great White North and right in my Honey's arms too! Know we are continuing to meet you on the side of the Father's heart trusting and resting in His blessed assurance knowing He hears! "I cry out to God Most High, to God, who fulfills His purpose for me." (Ps. 57:2). Keep us up to date and if Lord willing, by the time we shall come for another visit Curt will be up and running and all of us will be able to captivate another gorgeous sunset topping it off with prime rib! We Love You Back! Heartfelt Hugs, Ron & Judy=)! XOXOXOXO! (Doubles for each of You!)
